The Modern Slavery Act received Royal Assent in March 2015. If you want to read more about the details in it you can find it here

Now there are calls for an amendment to the Act to offer further support for victims – it is currently making its way through parliament with a 2nd reading scheduled for the House of Commons in November – you can monitor the progress here

The Free for Good campaign is the driving force behind the bill which seeks to increase the length of time victims receive help from the government which currently stands at 45 days.

The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Human Trafficking

The APPG on Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, with cross-party membership of MPs and Peers, meets to provide a forum for discussion as to the nature and scale of modern slavery in the UK.

The Human Trafficking Foundation  grew out of the APPG

The Foundation’s Chairman, Anthony Steen has been appointed Special Adviser to the group.
